Come hear the sweet voices of our new community youth choir as we welcome spring with our 1-hour concert, "Dreams of a Child." We will share a variety of musical selections and poetry to remember the simple beauty of childhood dreams. You will hear music from shows such as Matilda, the Musical, The Greatest Showman, and Brave, as well as uplifting and inspirational choral pieces from beloved composers such as Jim Papoulis and Amy Bernon.
Our 38-member youth choir will be joined by a fabulous musical ensemble:
- Bill Gesin (Principal Accompanist), Piano
- Jacob Abarbanell, Percussion
- Paul Haarala, Violin
As well as:
- Danielle Loveless, Conductor & Music Director
- Regina Ruopoli, Managing & Artistic Director
Join us in The Great Room of St. James Episcopal Church at 1872 Camp Road on James Island at 4pm on Saturday, May 20, 2023!
Doors open at 3:30 p.m. Run Time: Approximately 55 minutes. Advance purchase highly recommended.
NOTE: At our concert, a representative from The James Island Outreach will be present to collect food donations. This is a local charity providing food, labor and emergency funds to the people of James Island & Folly Beach! www.jioutreach.org
Their headquarters are right next door to our venue -- so this is an easy way we can all join together to do something good!
Will you please bring a few food items with you to donate???
While they welcome the donation of any unexpired non-perishable food items, following are some of the most needed:
Current Food Needs:
- Pasta & Pasta Sauce
- Canned vegetables (other than green beans)
- Pork & beans/Baked beans
- Crackers/saltines
- Pancake mix & syrup
- Peanut butter
- Hearty Soups
- Ketchup/mustard/mayo
- Cooking oil
Each month more than 170 households come to James Island Outreach for food assistance. Their food pantry provides fresh produce, frozen meats, bakery items and non-perishables to promote well-balanced nutrition. Last year, more than 213,000 pounds of food with an estimated value of $368,490, was shared with their community.
